It is a very intimate place but that adds to the vibe. Squeezing through past the tables but enough space to enjoy your time. Loud enough for it to have a vibe but not too loud so you can't chat. My 1st time having afghan food and there was some amazing flavours. We tried a few dishes which were all good, my faves were the lamb with spinach, the aubergine and the Sarah's dish. Im a big meat eater but the veg dishes were tasty. There only seemed to be 1 lady serving upstairs and she was very cheerful and kept is up to date on when food was coming. It came to around 23 quid each with tip for 3 people. Unsure were you get those flavours for that type of price anywhere in London.
We got a few things to share.
The lamb with potatoes was a favorite of the table. Everyone loved the aubergine, it was a bit spicy for me but I can’t handle any spice. I absolutely loved the lentil dall, so delicious.
We got chicken with yogurt and this one was interesting. It tasted quite minty. I wish we had more of the lamb instead. Normally I like mint but this wasn’t my exact favorite. But everything else was incredible!
Baklava is not too sweet, it was nice.
It’s a popular spot, you will probably share your table. It’s worth it!
We had to queue and wait a bit to enter but it completely worth it. The yogurt chicken was the protagonist no doubts, deliciously seasoned with a peppery taste. It is all served to be shared, so we asked for rice, bread and the fish stew, which was good but honestly the chicken eclipsed it. For dessert, sweet and nice baklavas. We’ll definitely come back. Prices are very good, about 9£ each plate.
